Women’s Mental Health Associates (WMHA) and Health Psychology Solutions (HPS) are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals, families, communities, organizations and populations. We do this by providing direct mental health and health psychology services; consultation on clinical program development in women’s health and mental health, psychosocial oncology and integrated behavioral health care for practices and health systems, health and behavioral health workforce development, patient focused research and educational resources; population health initiatives, and public policy; professional presentations and continuing education; community speaking; and working with media writers. Mental health and consultation services

Helen L. Coons, PhD, ABPP, President and Clinical Director of WMHA and HPS, is a clinical psychologist and board-certified clinical health psychologist who specializes in psychosocial aspects of infertility and family building, pregnancy complications and loss, maternal mental health, early and late cancer, cancer risk, chronic  and life-threatening physical conditions, PCOS, depression, anxiety and panic disorders, menopause, sexual health in women, trauma across the life span, life transitions, health care provider wellness, and grief/loss. Individuals, couples and families are often referred by providers in primary care, obstetrics, gynecology, maternal fetal medicine, reproductive medicine, oncology, genetic counseling, gastroenterology, cardiology, sexual medicine, rheumatology, geriatric medicine; other patients and colleagues; their insurance companies; and other groups.

Professional presentations and continuing education

Keynotes, grand-rounds, workshops, skills-focused continuing education and lunch and learns for health and mental health providers as well as corporate audiences. HPS is also an APA approved continuing education sponsor, and co-sponsors educational programs with other organizations.

Community presentations

Community educational programs in women’s health and mental health, cancer survivorship, wellness, etc. Presentations are developed with and tailored to the goals of the community organization or business, and are typically highly interactive.
